Clarity of vision

After 8 Mince are delighted to announce the launch of their new CD, Edinburgh Skyline.  We have chosen a selection of songs old and new, traditional, well known and self-penned.  The CD is available from any band member, it costs £10.  All proceeds after production costs are covered go to charity.  We will be focusing on CHAS first.

It only remains for us to wish everyone a very happy Christmas,  an a peaceful 2019.

Testing testing

The band had the privilege of playing for the residents of Leven Beach Care Home on Sunday, thank you to the residents and staff for the fine reception.

We’re gearing up for a big announcement, to be made very very soon, but in the meantime this made me smile.

Ahoy mateys

Sincere apologies for the lack of updates, some of you may know that life was bit difficult for the Webmaster in 2015 but we are hoping that a renewed focus on all things Mince will be achieved this year.   We certainly got off to a good start, with a team bonding night away at Glen Devon.  Thanks to the hotel staff for allowing us free rein to play in the lounges.

All the best for the year to come and we hope to have some exciting news to share with you soon.

Plethora

A big thank you to everyone who came along to the gig in Dalgety Parish  Church Hall on Friday 27th March.  We were all aware that you could have been at the Barnes Farm meeting next door, with Gordon Brown,  so we were delighted to see many new and many well-kent faces.  It was very enjoyable for us, and the Forth Churches Guild raised £360 which will be used across their current projects, as below.

Comfort Rwanda
Crossreach (art for dementia sufferers)
Mary’s Meals (for Liberian children)
Priority Areas (microfinancing)
Scottish Churches Housing Action
World Mission Council (refugees in Malta)

Gently jingling

After 8 Mince have played all their pre-Christmas gigs and will now focus on the much neglected shopping.   Thank you big time to everyone who has come to see us, asked us to play or put up with us being out so much in November, you know who you are .

Wishing everyone a merry, happy & safe Christmas, with your loved ones if that’s how it’s going to be, and all the very best for 2015.

Miked up

Many thanks to everyone who came along last night to Dalgety Parish Church, to the organisers and  to the Church office staff.  £700.00 was raised and the band enjoyed the evening very much, especially the green room with tea, coffee and chocolate cake, it’s such a treat!

We were pleased to be using our new mikes and stands for the first time, thank you again DBCC.  Thanks to Donald Ewing for the photo below, and to Grace Ewing for allowing her grandfather to play.

Thank You

All the members of After 8 Mince are deeply indebted to Dalgety Bay Community Council for the recent community grant of £600.

We have used this to buy new microphones and stands.
