Huge thanks to the Gourlays for inviting us to play at Rhona’s 70th birthday lunch in Dunfermline last weekend. We clocked up a few firsts – first birthday party, first time being filmed while singing and playing (should have sent that one coming!) and first time we have had a whip round instead of a raffle.
Donations were made to the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK. The money raised in the whip round will be donated to Kidney Kids Scotland.
Our next outing is to Dalgety Parish Church on Saturday 24th October, doors open 19:30. Tickets are available from the Church Office, priced £8.00. Last time this included interval refreshments, featuring some particularly impressive home baking, the sort that’s always been in evidence long before any tv shows… So, whether you are there for the cakes or the songs , we look forward very much to sharing your company.
Very much looking forward to being back on the road again, all the way up the B916. It’s been ages since the last time. Bring it on.
We have decided to make donations to the undernoted
Carnegie Spartans Gymnastic Club
Maggie’s Centres, after Maggie Jencks.
Sick Kids Hospital, Edinburgh
Children’s Hospice Association Scotland, Rachel House, Kinross
All nominated by band members.
Thanks are due to:-
- Everyone who came along on May 9th to Inverkeithing and made the evening so enjoyable.
- Everyone who donated a raffle prize
- The groupies for help with the raffle and tickets and tidying up
- Joe McIntyre and Frank DiCarlo for their assistance on the day and yet again to Joe for being MC.
After 8 Mince will be playing in IKThing, in St Peter in Chains church hall. Many thanks to the priest and Joe McIntyre for facilitating this. There will also be a raffle, all proceeds to a charity to be named by A8M, real soon now.
After 8 Mince enjoyed a very pleasant evening at St. Ninian’s Church in Dunfermline last week. Many thanks to the Guild for hosting us, and for the beautiful spread at the interval. Looking forward to having Alex back with us for our next outing. This was our first foray for 2014, so all the more welcome for that.
